2012: Your ‘Happiest’ Year Yet

by Randall Rogers on December 31, 2011

Well…2011 is nearly a memory and 2012 confronts us. What will become of us in 2012? What will we achieve (or not achieve)? What will we strive for? Will we advance personally, professionally, and financially? These are some of the questions I ask self as we are about to ring in a new year. Since this is the time when all of us should be thinking about the questions above, I offer you this suggestion. Rather than ask “what goals do I want to achieve in 2012?” ask first “what is my vision for self?”. What is the distinction? To pursue and achieve goals is admirable, but if we do so without the context of a broader personal vision (and strategy to achieve vision), we may not maximize the personal, professional, and financial potential that life offers.

The reason we put our goals within the context of [a vision to strive for] is that pursuing a vision (for self) is more inspiring; provides us hope; reason to live. Whereas, stating and acheiving goals represents merely a step or milestone on the way to achieving vision. Another way to characterize the distinction between goals vs. vision is that, whereas goals give us focus, vision (aka ‘our dreams’) gives us power; power to pursue a new life, a different identify, a more fragrant life. As I (and the Personal Strategy Institute) confront 2012, our vision remains the same:

To become a recognized authority, thought leader, and catalyst in helping others develop personal strategy, establish personal alignment, and maximize the life experience

We at the Personal Strategy Institute will continue to offer inspiring and helpful content in 2012 about developing a personal strategy, establishing personal alignment, and maximizing the life experience. Remember that we are always in a state of ‘achieving alignment’ as establishing personal alignment is a moving target. If you did not achieve your goals in 2011, do not be discouraged. The most important thing is that you made progress- that you just kept going especially when the going got tough.
I wish you great success in 2012 – personally and professionally. Remember, with a set of inner soul goals and a personal strategy to achieve each goal, nearly anything (within reason) is possible. If you have not established your personal strategy for 2012 yet, consider purchasing our latest award-winning book ‘Breaking Free: The Ultimate Guide to Living Your Passion’.

I leave you with this…”when we pursue our passions, happiness follows”. Make 2012 your ‘happiest’ year yet.

Look forward to your reply.
