The Tipping Point

by Randall Rogers on November 23, 2011

For each of us, there comes a time when we reach the “tipping point”; the time when we decide to eat right, exercise, and finally get into shape; the time when we decide to beat addiction to lead a more inspired life; the time to start living authentically, as who we are and were meant to be. Are you at the tipping point in your life? I can remember the times, only because their occurrence was so rare, that I reached the tipping point. I remember the time when I decided to get into shape – and I lost 40 lbs. I remember the time when I decided to change careers – and I increased my income by 40%. I remember the time when I decided to live authentically, to be true to who I am and always wanted to be – and I wrote a book.

I remember a time. Do you?

I ask this, as to deny such feelings, to dismiss what soul is telling you to do is to deny yourself life. I must confess that as I write this post I am not as fit as I once was. I am, once again, by clinical standards, obese. For nearly all my adult life I have struggled to maintain proper weight. It has caused me great suffering over the years. The good news is, I have reached the tipping point and I am on the path to better days. Already, I am down 7 lbs for the week and feeling good. This time, and for the last time, I will achieve, maintain, and sustain my goal to be exceptionally fit. It is liberating to get to the ‘tipping point’ with some aspect of your life. I cannot explain why it is or how it is that we arrive at a point where “status quo” will no longer do. We all privately struggle with some vice, some aspect of self and life that we wish we could change. My advice to you – remain hopeful. As a stranger recently said to me on a plane ride home, “the day will come when YOU will WANT to make a change”. Hallelujah! For me, that day has arrived. Has that day arrived for you? Have you reached the ‘tipping point’ to make dramatic change in your life? If so, do not deny the feeling; do not deny next steps. “Tip” in the manner as prescribed by soul. You will be glad you did.

Look forward to your reply.
